Sunday June 13th, world première of the documentary THE RIMET TROPHY – THE INCREDIBLE STORY OF THE WORLD CUP (RIMET – L’INCREDIBILE STORIA DELLA COPPA DEL MONDO) by CESAR MENEGHETTI, FILIPPO MACELLONI and LORENZO GARZELLA (Italia/Argentina/Inglaterra/Brasile 2010; HD, 52’; v.o. italiano, portoghese, spagnolo; sott. italiano, inglese) in Italy’s principal summer film event, the Taormina Film Fest that celebrates its 56th year from June 12 to 18, 2010. The festival is a major showcase for film premières from Hollywood and around the world. Each year the festival presents a careful selection of just 21 new films chosen from the most significant recent production. The film RIMET is shown in the BRASILE!/BRAZIL! section a focus on Brazilian cinema that aims to bolster an exchange between Brazil and Italy, promote Brazilian cinema and organize meetings between Brazilian directors, artists and producers and industry professionals from throughout the world. The directors César Meneghetti and Filippo Macelloni and the producer Daniele Mazzocca will present the film and will be available for a Q&A with the public after the screening.
