ROMA. September 24th-26th César Meneghetti is part of the international jury of ABSTRACTA – INTERNATIONAL ABSTRACT CINEMA EXHIBITION, which aim to promote and disseminate the abstract and experimental films in Italy and abroad, emphasizing in films from European countries, from artists, filmmakers, experts and young emerging authors. Directed by Valentina Dominici (curator) and Massimo Pistone (chairman) ABSTRACTA, in its past editions were also presented in New York, Cairo, Marseille, Bangkok, Chieri and Vienna. The only Abstract Festival in Italy is resuming an interrupted tradition, after the last abstract cinema exhibition of 1951 in Liege, Belgium, organized by Jean Raine (Cobra artist), and attended by artists and filmmakers such as Leger, Duchamp, Dulac, Ernst, Veronesi, Richter, Henry Moore and many others.
The 2012 edition will be held at Campo Boario, at the Padiglione dell’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Roma (Academy of Fine Arts Pavilion) in Testaccio.
